Tribal and Non-Tribal Casino Guide to Western Washington

Goldie’s

206.440.8754
15030 Aurora Avenue North-Shoreline

The first casino past the Seattle-Shoreline border, located on Aurora and 150th street. Goldie’s was the first of the Aurora casinos to allow eighteen year olds, the consequence being that it has since become a youth hang-out, almost like a bar for nineteen year olds. Their poker tournaments cost $23 and start at 11:00 each morning. During the day you can find $3-6 and $4-8 cash games. They also feature table games: blackjack, Spanish 21, Three Card Poker, and others. In the back they have a lounge and a dance floor for patrons 21 years old and over. 18+

Parker’s
206.542.9491
16716 Aurora Avenue North-Shoreline

The most Rounders-ish of the Aurora casinos, Parker’s recently revamped their poker room to host the highest limits on the strip. A typical afternoon sees one $4-8 table, two $8-16s and a $12-24. Every Sunday they have a $55 buy-in tournament beginning at 11:30; the second Sunday of each month the buy-in jumps to $225. They also have table games, and some pretty decent Chinese food. 18+

Club Hollywood
206.546.4444
16716 Aurora Avenue North-Shoreline

Located just across the street from Parker’s, and just across the parking lot from Drift On Inn, Club Hollywood isn’t just a restaurant, bar and casino but a self-proclaimed museum. Its walls are papered with signed photographs of Hollywood stars like Martin Landau, Al Pacino, and Richard Dreyfus (OK, so it’s a little dated…). Occasionally you’ll find a $4-8 poker game there, but the emphasis is more on the (hopelessly tacky) décor, the karaoke on Sunday and Tuesday nights, and the steak and sushi café.
Sign-ups begin at 6:30 pm for their daily $35 buy-in poker tournament. They also have a free blackjack tournament Sunday through Thursday, as well as the requisite table games. Ray Allen has been rumored to step in for a hand of occasional blackjack.  18+

Drift On Inn
206.546.4144
16708 Aurora Avenue North-Shoreline

The Drift does have a $35 morning tournament, starting at 11:30 am. The “real poker” begins afterwards.
On the upper floor: karaoke on Monday nights, wet t-shirt contests on Thursday nights, and “Dancing to the 70s, 80s, and 90s” on Friday and Saturday nights ($5 cover). Off Track Betting is Wednesday through Sunday beginning at 9:30 am. Other table games include blackjack, spanish 21, texas shootout, lucky ladies, 3-card poker, and 4-card poker. 21+

Silver Dollar Casino
425.775.5677
7004 220th St SW Mountlake Terrace

The only one of the seven to decline to capitalize on the Poker Boom, the  Silver Dollar-Mountlake Terrace is located directly across the street from the Red Dragon on 220th street. It has fifteen table games and a bingo parlor in back. 21+

Red Dragon
425.2754444
21917 Highway 99 Mountlake Terrace

The Dragon’s daily $35 poker tournaments begin at 3pm on the upper floor. There are $3-6 cash games on top and table games on the bottom. It also features two areas with comfy leather couches (in case you want to relax and observe the poor saps losing their money in front of you), two oddly incongruous fireplaces, and the aforementioned patio. 18+

The Crazy Moose
425.672.4770
22003 66th Ave-Mountlake Terrace

The Crazy Moose opened the same year as the Red Dragon, yet has managed to completely avoid the Dragon’s pretensions. Although it’s a mile down 220th street in a strip mall next to an Azteca, it perfectly preserves Aurora’s grimy authenticity. Give it a hundred years or so and it will be the Drift On Inn. They have two $25 tournaments a day, at 12 am and 12 pm, and a delightfully loose $3-6 game. Other table games are featured as well. 21+
