Often referred to as the greenest city in the United States, our southern neighbor Portland, is 170 miles south on the I-5 corridor. Located 70 miles from the Pacific Coast on the confluence of the Willamette and Columbia Rivers Oregon's most populous city is home to approximately two million people.
As a center for the arts, Portland offers lots galleries, museums and theater companies. See some of the art up close at the First Thursday art gallery walks in Westside Portland or in Northeast Portland galleries during Last Thursday walks. As a mecca for the green minded its parks are perfect for a sunny day picnic or an afternoon stroll. For the more adventuress explorer check out Forest Park with over 70 miles of trails.

Our northern coastal neighbor, Vancouver, is located 140 miles to the north in the Lower Mainland of southwestern British Columbia, Canada. As the largest city and seaport in the Pacific Northwest region, Vancouver is ethnically diverse, with 52% of city residents having a first language other than English. Ranked one of the three most livable cities in the world, Vancouver was ranked as the 10th cleanest city in the world(2007).
Traditionally Vancouver has relied on British Columbia's resource sectors: forestry, mining, fishing and agriculture. Over time Vancouver has diversified itself to incorporate a sizable service industry, a growing tourism industry, and it has become the third-largest film production center in North America after Los Angeles and New York City.
