The Concerts at Marymoor series is an eclectic group of artists that perform at the park’s amphitheater over the summer months. Large crowds flock to the venue (it holds about 5,000) to see anything from the edgy hip-hop of Erykah Badu and the Roots, the inexplicably enduring hair-band stylings of Styx and Boston, and absolute classics like Willie Nelson and the Doobie Brothers. 
It’s hard to pin down an absolute highlight. Some will wait in earnest to see their favorite Backstreet Boy, others will look forward to a retro set from the Chieftains; fans of the former having no idea who the latter are, and vise versa. A clear standout is the Sub Pop’s 20th Anniversary Festival, boasting a historic lineup no Seattleite will want to miss. Legendary rockers Green River and Mudhoney are sharing the bill with recent Sub Pop success stories Wolf Parade, Fleet Foxes, Iron & Wine and more. In addition, a half-pipe will be erected for skaters from the Nike and Girl teams slated to throw down—though the event appears to be an exhibition rather than a contest.
