Downhill Skiing

Yes, we Seattleites have everything. Alpine Skiing at our finger tips and almost every other outdoor sport you can think of. Here are a couple ski areas near and far in Washington.

  • Mt. Baker
    Located in north central Washington 150 miles from Seattle. Baker receives the most snow annually of any Washington ski area.

  • Stevens Pass
    Located in the Cascades just 78 miles east of Seattle on Highway 2. Stevens Pass has night skiing, a Nordic skiing center and the second most snowfall annually.

  • The Summit at Snoqualmie
    Located at the crest of the Cascades on Interstate 90. Boasting four different ski areas, night skiing and the easiest accessibility from Seattle. The Summit is a mere 47 miles straight shot on I-90.

  • White Pass
    White Pas has a 6,000ft summit and is located 150 miles southeast of Seattle just south of Mt. Rainier on Highway 12. White Pass has a Nordic Park, a half pipe, 12 rails and night skiing.

  • Mission Ridge
    Across the Cascades just outside of Wenatchee, Mission Ridge offers a respectable vertical drop of 2,250 ft from a 6,820 ft summit. The resort has night skiing, and a terrain park.

  • 49 Degrees North
    In the far northeast corner of the state 338 miles from Seattle, but only 52 miles from Spokane. With 2,325 skiable acres and 1,851 ft of vertical drop, a terrain park, some night skiing, 49 degrees North makes a great stop over on your way east to the Rockies.

  • Crystal Mountain
    Has the most skiable terrain, highest summit and longest vertical drop in the state of Washington. A mere 76 miles from Seattle, Crystal seems to be the best choice, with only a couple downfalls no night skiing and terrain park.
