The Emerald City
Thinking about visiting Seattle? You sure? You haven’t heard about all that precipitation?... Okay, you’re in, shut the door behind you. Like Leif Erikson’s famous Iceland-Greenland swap, Seattle’s reputation for rain is, frankly, just a way to keep the Californians at bay.
See, the problem is that too many people who come as tourists end up living here. Seattle is the most literate, outdoorsy, and beautiful city in the country. Just do us a favor, see more than the Space Needle and Pike Place. And, when you need coffee, try something besides a Starbucks.  Enjoy!

Everyone knows it rains a lot in Seattle.  It’s the object of endless
jokes and one of the few things people actually know about the
city—that and we drink coffee by the buckets.  But what most people don’t acknowledge is that there’s plenty to do even with the rain, and it doesn’t involve a drip of coffee (unless of course you want it…)
