Where to get Coffee

Maybe you are not so hungry, but desperate for caffeine to keep up with your hyper brood. Seattle is the land of the latte, but many coffee houses are not that fun for the little one. Here are some real gems, where you can get your caffeine fix and your young one won't get bored and throw a tantrum.

  • China Cat Coffee and Tea
    1417 N.W. 70th St
    206-595-3240
There is a toy basket for your kids to peruse while you enjoy a cuppa joe. Children's new-and-used bookstore Briar Patch Books is located in the coffee shop. Call for dates and times of the regularly scheduled preschool story time.
  • Mosaic Coffee House
    4401 Second Ave. N.E
This non-profit coffee house lets you pay what you can for their yummy snacks. It features a separate and quite large children's play area too.
  • Wayward Coffeehouse
    8570 Greenwood Ave. N
The coffee shop has healthy treats and a kids corner with toys. They play mellow music in the evenings and encourage board game playing (Candyland, anyone?)
  • Coffee to a Tea with Sugar
    4541 California Ave. S.W.
    206-937-1495
You can get a regular cupcake here or a kid-sized mini-cupcake with your coffee. There is a large back area stocked with toys, books, and games for the kiddies.
  • Cloud City Coffee
    8801 Roosevelt Way N.E
    206-527-5552
Cloud City Coffee has cozy couches and tons of books for kids and adults. Grab a book while you sip on your latte. They also have baked goods and heartier snacks.
